August 26 -- New Food Pantry Opening in Meadowlands
At Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 300 Pike Street. (In the garage of the parking lot in the back.) Help is available for low-income families. Applications for food assistance will be provided when you arrive and seniors can qualify for even more food. The grand opening is set for Saturday, August 26th from 9am to 11am.

September 9 -- Washington Rotary Cash Bash
Noon - 7pm at the Farmer's Market Pavillion in downtown Washington. All proceeds benefit the renovation of the Main Pavilion at Washington Park. Food and beverages from local wineries, distilleries and breweries as well as $15,000 in drawings. Major college football games will be televised as well. September 16 -- I. O. T. A. Bus Trip
The IOTA Club is sponsoring a bus trip to the New National African American History and Cultural Museum in Washington DC. The bus leaves Friday September 15th, and returns Saturday September 16th. On going -- Italian Heritage on display at Citizen's Library
The Dorothea & Henry H. Hood Local History Center at Citizen's Library in Washington has launched an effort to collect the histories of Washington's Italian immigrants. Italian descendants are invited to share their oral and written histories, traditions and photos. The materials will be preserved in the center's new Italian Heritage Collection, along with books, magazines and other publications that celebrate and document Italian immigration into Washington, PA.
