NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Knicks made a record comeback from 29 points down and moved to the brink of their first championship since 1973 by beating the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. OG Anunoby tipped in the miss of Jalen Brunson’s long 3-point attempt with 1.2 seconds remaining to complete the rally, giving the Knicks a 3-1 series lead and three chances to win the championship. It looked impossible early, when the Spurs rolled to a 27-point halftime lead. But Brunson helped bring the Knicks back with 36 points and Anunoby finished with 33. Game 5 is Saturday night in San Antonio.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The Carolina Hurricanes have reclaimed home-ice advantage in the Stanley Cup Final. Not that it’s mattered much in this series. The Hurricanes split two road games with the Vegas Golden Knights to return home for Thursday’s Game 5 with the best-of-seven series tied 2-2. Normally that would be a reassuring feeling for a team that that has long thrived in its own building in front of its raucous crowd.

The Cincinnati Bengals have restructured the contract of franchise quarterback Joe Burrow, a person familiar with the move told The Associated Press. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the move was not announced. The restructured deal was first reported by ESPN and NFL Network. Cincinnati gains around $10 million in cap space by spreading out some of his base salary over the final three years of the deal — 2027 through ’29. Burrow signed a five-year, $275-million extension in 2023. The Bengals found themselves low on cap space after acquiring defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence from the New York Giants before the NFL draft and signing him to a one-year extension worth $28 million.

Brooklyn Hess threw out a runner trying to score in the bottom of the third, then scored the eventual game-winning run in the top of the fourth as Chartiers-Houston rallied past Bristol in Monday’s PIAA Softball 2A semifianls. Bristol used a lead-off walk and a pair of singles to build a 2-0 lead in the third. With two out, a ground ball single went sharply through the box and into centerfield. Hess charged, gloved and threw home in plenty of time to end the inning. Lauren Rush opened the Bucs’ 4th with a single. After failing to bunt twice, Aubree Randolph tripled to left center, scoring Rush. A strikeout and a pop up brought Hess to the plate. An at-bat that started hitting left-handed ended with Hess switching sides and popping up between the circle and the third-base line. A little contact between the shortstop and third baseman resulted in the ball dropping, with Randolph scoring to tie the game. Hess promptly stole second and scored on Zaylee Fonner’s base hit to give the Bucs a 3-2 lead. Bristol got the lead-off batter aboard in each of the next three innings but could not tie the game. The Warriors had scored in double digits in 22 of their 24 games but ended up stranding eight base-runners, three in the fifth inning alone. Three of Chartiers-Houston’s five hits came in the decisive fourth frame. The Bucs will take on Laurel for the PIAA softball title, Friday at Nittany Lion Softball Park at Penn State. The Spurs handed the Knicks their first loss in 46 days and potentially salvaged their season on Monday night in front of a Madison Square Garden crowd that included President Donald Trump. The Knicks had their 13-game winning streak, the second-longest in NBA postseason history, snapped and missed a chance to move to the brink of their first championship since 1973.
