Emergency responders were dispatched to Interstate 79 North at 3:15 Friday morning for an accident between a car and tractor trailer around the Amity/Lone Pine exit in Amwell Township. According to the 9-1-1 supervisor, a car struck a deer, swerved and was then struck by a tractor trailer. The vehicles caught fire. Ambulance crews were sent to the scene but there were no injuries reported. Hazmat crews were on scene to offload fuel from the tractor trailer. The interstate in that area was shut-down for a brief period of time but has since reopened.
