WASHINGTON, Pa. — Over the next week, farmers, vendors and patrons will make their way to Arden for the next Washington County Fair, which has been a staple of the community since 1798. The eight-day event kicks off Saturday with exhibits for farming, arts and sciences, and homemaking subjects. 4-H clubs will be on hand with other activities and rides. Officials say the county fair usually draws crowds of over 50,000 throughout the event. The fair itself is not the only event that happens on the grounds during the year, as the exhibit halls and barns are rented to generate money for improvements and to make ends meet to hold the fair each year.
