Arrest Made In Connection With City Fire

Washington Police have arrested a man in connection with a fire on the porch of a home in the 600-block of Broad Street. Police Chief Steve Devenney tells WJPA News that fire crews were called to the home just before 10:30 p.m. Upon arrival they found an item on the porch on fire and quickly extinguished it. Chief Devenney says an individual at the scene was then taken into custody and arrested. At this time, police are not releasing any other information including the man’s name. He is last reported held in the Washington County Jail.
