WASHINGTON, PA – On Monday, March 9, the CrossState Credit Union Association announced that Bob Greek, the Board Chair of the Board of Directors for CHROME Federal Credit Union, is a recipient of the Hope In Action Legend Award. This award is presented to recognize long-term dedication to changing people’s lives by promoting financial education and the relevance of credit unions. “Over the years, we have witnessed Bob’s sincere focus on doing what is in the best interest of our members and Team. His leadership has helped CHROME elevate its reputation in our community, beginning with the 2016 merger of his prior credit union, Pittsburgh Central FCU,” said Bob Flanyak, the President and CEO of CHROME Federal Credit Union. “This award is a fitting tribute to Bob, who has dedicated over 59 years to helping others and whose legacy of service continues to inspire us all.” Greek’s Credit Union experience began in 1972, when he was an employee and board member of Union Electric Steel, now Southwest Community Federal Credit Union, until 1999. The credit union movement and community have benefited significantly from Bob’s involvement. His leadership and dedication were instrumental in supporting initiatives for financial education, disaster relief, and credit union relevance through the foundation’s various efforts.
