City Police Chase Wrong-Way Driver On I-70

Washington City Police were involved in a wrong-way chase Saturday night.  According to Washington County 911, the chase began just after eleven o’clock on Wiley Avenue in Washington.  A 911 Supervisor tells WJPA that the driver entered the Interstate in the Jefferson Avenue area and began traveling west in the Eastbound lanes.  Police called off their chase shortly after that but picked it up again when the driver got off the highway and crashed his vehicle in the eleven-hundred block of West Chestnut Street near Washington Medical.  The supervisor says the car then caught fire.  There were no reported injuries, but the man was taken to the hospital for a blood draw.
