Construction Begins In Charleroi

Borough officials in Charleroi are alerting residents that construction activities will begin on the traffic island on 5^th Street that runs between McKean Avenue and the Chamber Plaza parking area. Beginning today, crews will start dismantling that island. Charleroi Public Works employees will be removing curbs, concrete, old sign posts and utility boxes. They will also be working with the Authority of the Borough of Charleroi to bring a man hole entrance to ground level. The estimate to complete the project is five days. That does not include the 4^th of July holiday. Borough officials hope to re-open the street each day at 3:00 PM to limit people’s inconvenience when trying to access the Chamber Plaza parking lot.
