Allen Formally Arraigned For Role In City Killing

A third suspect in a shooting on Ridge Avenue in May was formally arraigned on Monday. Brandon Allen, 31 of Washington pleaded not guilty to 10 criminal charges for his role in the killing of 58 year old Kristin Barfield. Barfield was sitting on her boyfriend’s front porch when gunfire broke out and struck her in the chest according to police. Allen faces felony charges of homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault and conspiracy aggravated assault along with prohibited possession of a fire arm. His case will be joined with two other suspects in the shooting, 15 year old Tyriq Moss and 17 year old Juan Worthy. Moss is being charged as an adult. Allen is accused of driving the car while Moss fired the gun. A December 14 trial status conference is scheduled for all three defendants.
