“Shelter In Place Order” Lifted Following Stand Off

A shelter in place on place order has been lifted in Washington. Several law enforcement agencies, including SWAT officers, were called out around five-thirty Friday afternoon for reports of a potentially armed man holed up in a building in the 700 block of East Maiden Street. Police on scene say a dispute between occupants in the building led to the stand-off. The all clear was given shortly after 2 this morning when officers were able to take the man into custody. He was transported to Washington Hospital to be checked out and then will then be transferred to the Washington County Jail. No residents were injured during the standoff and all roads have been reopen.
