If your pets need a little “Heavenly Help,” you can bring them to the Blessing of Animals on Saturday, September 30th in Eighty Four. St. James Parish is holding the Blessing of Pets for the Feast Day of Saint Francis, the Patron Saint of Animals. It will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Wendy’s Pavilion at 1360, Route 519. You can register by visiting the St. James Parish website at catholicpartnerparishes.org. You can also register by calling the parish office at 724-225-1425. All pets are welcome, not just dogs and cats. Father Ed Yuhas, who is the Pastor at St. James and Katherine Drexel Parishes, says in his many years of blessing pets, he’s seen just about everything, from dogs and cats, to birds, cattle and horses. Father Yuhas says the Blessing of the Pets is not just for Catholics, but for all denominations and for everyone who has a pet and loves them.
