HICKORY, PA (WPXI) — A local beehive farm was recently and intentionally destroyed, as 50 beehives were set aflame. Bedillion Honey Farm owners Mark and Sarah Bedillion estimate a loss of roughly 50,000 bees, and said whoever is responsible went to great lengths to reach the beehives deep in a secluded wooded area. Their daughter, Lily, told reporters, “It’s just sad. They were just getting ready for the spring, and to know the weather was getting warmer, and they were getting more prepared, and to see them all dead like that? It was heartbreaking to say the least.” Family members say the beehive farm destroyed was one of 25, spread across the region. Ohioville police are actively investigating who the suspect may be, and any potential motive involved with the arson.
