FBI Hunts For Clues Over Bombs At NYC Protest

NEW YORK (AP) — Investigators are trying to learn more about two Pennsylvania men accused of bringing homemade bombs to a protest outside the home of New York City’s mayor. Authorities say Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi told authorities after their arrests that they were inspired by the Islamic State group. The FBI said Monday that searches in the investigation included a Pennsylvania storage unit. Some of the devices recovered at the scene were being tested. Balat’s lawyer said his client is a high school senior with a complicated personal life and that he doesn’t know what he’s doing.
