Federal Investigators Probe Amazon Cargo Jet’s Crash

MIAMI (AP) — Experts say federal investigators will likely consider whether an Amazon cargo jet that barreled off a runway and crashed into several vehicles in Miami touched down too late. The fiery crash killed five people and injured five more. The aircraft overran the runway Sunday afternoon after arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico. It plowed across a road used by warehouse workers and other businesses that surround the airport. Experts say the typical landing zone for a plane is within the first 3,000 feet (914 meters) of a runway. The National Transportation Safety Board plans to hold a news conference Monday.
