Several fire departments were called out Friday afternoon just after one o’clock, for reports of a fire at the former FTS International site on Route 519 in Eighty Four. North Strabane Assistant Fire Chief Rich Yosi tells WJPA News that the fire, at what is now ProFrac, was contained to multiple pieces of fracking equipment and they were able to bring the blaze under control in about an hour. North Strabane was assisted by the Peters Township Fire Department, Washington County Public Safety, and Ambulance and Chair EMS on scene. Canonsburg and Bentleyville Fire Departments were on standby for the incident. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
