WASHINGTON, Pa. — Multiple fire crews were called to the scene of an apparent gas-fed fire in East Washington Saturday night. The blaze broke out just before 11:00 p.m. on the 500 block of East Chestnut Street. Washington Fire Crews responded along with North Strabane, South Strabane, Peters Township, Canton Township and Ambulance and Chair EMS. Reports say there was an initial search for someone who lived in the building that was not accounted for at first, but all occupants made it out and only one victim was reportedly treated for smoke inhalation. Officials on scene also said a hoarding situation made it difficult for crews to maneuver through the house. The fire was under control in less than an hour.
