Flash flooding caused by torrential rains has killed six people in northern West Virginia and rescue crews are out searching for two others who remainĀ  missing. Authorities on Sunday also were assessing damage to roads, bridges, natural gas lines and other infrastructure. Officials say 2.5 to 4 inches of rain fell in parts of Wheeling and Ohio County within about a half hour on Saturday night. Cars were washed away in swollen creeks and some people took refuge in trees. Ohio County emergency management director Lou Vargo says major damage to roads, highways and bridges delayed some rescue operations. Gov. Patrick Morrisey has declared a state of emergency.
