A second Republican has announced their candidacy for the office of Washington County Prothonotary. Kevin Hill of Hickory is a former district manager for the Republican Party in Washington County. He states that he has gained a wealth of business knowledge as a manager in the insurance industry. Hill says that he hopes to bring the kind of success and leadership that is needed back to the Prothonotary office, restoring how this crucial row office is run and to work as a cohesive team with the other elected officials. This announcement came after current Prothonotary Laura Hough announced Thursday that she plans to run for re-election. Hough was elected to the position in 2019 as the first registered Republican to hold the office in over forty-years. The primary is May 16.
