An inquest into the death of 38 year old Eduardo Hoover Jr. is underway here in Washington County. Hoover died April 2 in the 1000-block of Jefferson Avenue in Washington following a police chase that involved officers from Smith Township and Mount Pleasant Township. Coroner Tim Warco is charged with investigating the death of any person whose death arises from involvement of police or other law enforcement authorities. In addition to determining the cause and manner of death, the Coroner will also determine the identity of the person or persons responsible for Hoover’s death and whether there is criminal liability and whether use of lethal force was justified. If necessary, the Coroner’s office says the inquest will continue on Thursday.
