Man Dies In Hempfield Motorcycle Accident

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Westmoreland County Coroner, Kenneth A. Bacha, has released the following information on a motorcycle fatality that occurred in Hempfield Township. Tanner B. Van Woundenberg was driving a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle while traveling north on Mount Pleasant Road. According to a release, Woundenberg missed a curve in the road, hit a fence, and landed in a driveway. Deputy Coroner John A. Ackerman pronounced Woundenberg dead at the scene. Woudenberg was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. Toxicology results will not be available for several weeks. Pennsylvania State Police Greensburg Barracks also investigated.
