Man Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting Identified

FOREST HILLS BOROUGH, Pa. — (WPXI) – The man who died after an officer-involved shooting in Forest Hills has been identified.  Marcus Allen, 38, of Pittsburgh, was transported to UPMC Mercy hospital after being shot Sunday. He later died.  His death is being investigated by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.  According to Allegheny County 911, police and EMS units were called to the 2300 block of Ardmore Boulevard in Forest Hills at 10:17 a.m. Sunday.  According to Allegheny County police, Allen was yelling at people while lifting his shirt up and displaying a firearm.  Two Forest Hills officers found Allen on Yost Boulevard near Ardmore Manor Drive. They tried to talk to him, but he began firing at the officers.  Police said the two officers fired back, hitting Allen multiple times.  Police said that during the shooting, one of the officers’ uniform pants was hit by gunfire. The officer wasn’t hurt.  Forest Hills police requested the investigative assistance of the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit. The investigation is ongoing and all investigative information will be provided to the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office for review.
