Man Shot In The City Of Washington

Washington Mayor Scott Putnam has confirmed to WJPA News that there was a shooting in the city of Washington Sunday evening around six-thirty.  Putnam says all he can say at the moment is that Mt. Pleasant Police were chasing a suspect and the chase went into the city of Washington.  Putnam says the shooting occurred on Jefferson Avenue near Maple Avenue.  WJPA News has also had multiple reports that the suspect did not survive the encounter.  This is a developing story.  Please check back for further details.
