Washington County will get its seventh Common Pleas Judge at the end of August. Traci McDonald-Kemp will be sworn in on August 30 as the newest judge due to growing caseload in Washington County. The position is an interim one. The 48 year old McDonald-Kemp won nomination for the 10 year position on both party tickets in the May primary election. Her name will appear on the ballot for formal election in November. McDonald-Kemp will be the first black woman to serve on the bench. She is the second person of color to serve following the late Paul Simmons.
