Former Monessen Superintendent Enters Plea

The former Superintendent of the Monessen School District entered a guilty plea for charges she faced earlier this spring. Dr. Leanne Spazak, 55 of Charleroi pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of open lewdness. She faced an additional misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure and two summary offenses of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. She entered into the county ARD program and received 12 months probation and court approved community service. Spazak was caught engaged in a sex act in a truck parked in a Charleroi  apartment building parking lot when police were alerted to the activity. Spazak retired from her position as the Superintendent of the Monessen School District as of July 1.
