CECIL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — In less than a year, residents and workers will have a way to reach the Montour Trail through the Southpointe business park. Multiple Washington County officials and groups were on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Montour Trail Southpointe Connector Friday morning. The organizations broke ground on Phase 1 of the connector, that will run from the existing trail along Cecil Henderson Road, to Reserve Drive near Klinger Park in Southpointe. The work for this half-mile stretch of new trail is now out for bid, with construction set to begin in late July or early August.  The Gateway Engineers, who created the plans for the project, says the connector should be opened sometime in the fall. Phases two and three of the project will place a trail along Reserve Drive and Klinger Road so that the trail itself runs right into the existing sidewalks along corporate drive in Southpointe.
