Authorities say the cause of a fire that broke out in a home in Charleroi late last night was due to improper ventilation of a chimney. Firefighters responded to the call just before eleven o’clock at a home in the area of 9th and Meadow. They say they saw fire coming through the roof of the building when they arrived on the scene. They say the fire began in the attic and they were able to put it out quickly. Officials say a man and his pet who were inside the home at the time were able to get out safely after a neighbor alerted him to the fire by knocking on his door .
