North Franklin Township held a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday to debut their new municipal building. The new center is located at 345 Franklin Farms Road. The building is a $4 million dollar project that is 7000 square feet in size. Not only will it house township offices, it will also have a multi-purpose room available for public use. The building sits adjacent to the township’s Waterside Park that is undergoing development. The 89 acre park has a lake with walking trail. The township is also repurposing a former water company building. Supervisor Chairman Bob Sabot calls the opening of the building a “beginning.” He cited studies that indicate that people desire recreation areas in their communities and he says that this building and the park will go a long way to fill those needs. Sabot also stated that the building was built without raising taxes on North Franklin Township residents.
