North Strabane Schedules Public Hearing

North Strabane Township Supervisors worked through an agenda loaded largely with housekeeping items. An important item for residents will be a public hearing that was scheduled for June 20 at 6PM. At that hearing will be a presentation of amendments to the township zoning ordinance that govern the placement of wireless communication facilities. According to Township Manager Andrew Walz, federal regulations have been changed that take away much of the ability of local governments to regulate where those facilities may be located. In other business, PennDot approved township suggested changes to the intersection of Garden Street and State Route 980. Garden Street will now be a one way street and left turns exiting Garden Street will no longer be allowed. A public hearing for those changes will be scheduled for later in the summer.
