A public hearing held by North Strabane Township Supervisors still has not found a definition to a proposed development designated as a “personal warehouse.” CC Realty Advisors wants to develop the idea at an 8.6 acre parcel of land at the intersection of Morganza and Curry Roads that is currently zoned commercial. At issue is the wide variety of uses that could be included in the personal warehouse definition. CC Realty worked with the planning commission to develop just what that idea is and what uses could be included as permitted uses. According to Rich Erenberg of CC Realty Advisors some of the uses that are seen in other areas of the country are simple storage, workshops for car enthusiasts, work out areas, light retail and man caves. To Erenberg’s disappointment, light retail such as cigar stores or candle shops was eliminated. A few supervisors seem to agree that certain retail may be appropriate. Some light industrial was in the definition but did come under question from supervisors. Overall, many questions remain on just what the definition of a personal warehouse should be and what activities should be permitted. The meeting was continued to an undetermined date to allow changes to the proposed definition to be proposed.
