The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is offering an online method to apply and pay for a License To Carry permit. Washington County residents will now have two options to acquire the permit, the traditional in person application using the PA License to Carry Firearm application form or the new online version. The online application may be found at https://www.washingtoncopa.gov/sheriff. Once the online application is completed, users will have the option to pay via debit or credit card. The completed application will be reviewed by the Sheriff’s Office and if completed accurately it will be sent to the Pennsylvania Instant Check System for approval. Approved applicants will be notified by telephone, text or email to go to the Sheriff’s Office to be photographed and then pick up the approved LTC permit. Applicants will need proper photo identification in order to be photographed and receive the LTC. People wishing to apply in person may still do so at the Sheriff’s Office during normal business hours.
