(WPXI) – A Greene County man is in jail, accused of abusing his 6-year-old daughter. John Edward Kraft, 50, of Waynesburg, is facing multiple charges for allegedly striking his daughter, causing severe bruising all over her body. According to court documents filed by state police in Waynesburg, one of the girl’s siblings allegedly said Kraft buried her in the yard and left her in a hole all night. He also allegedly choked her until she blacked out. Kraft has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, strangulation, endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment of a minor and unlawful restraint of a minor. He is in the Greene County jail, unable to post bail, according to court documents.

(WPXI) – The Allegheny County police department is investigating a man being found shot to death in Duquesne. 911 dispatch was notified around 5:55 a.m. Tuesday of a male slumped over the wheel of a car in the 900 block of High Street. First responders found a man who had several gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as 18-year-old Durobb Johnson, was pronounced dead on scene. Homicide detectives initiated an investigation. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the County Police Tip Line 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.

A Washington man faced his preliminary hearing on Monday on charges that he struck a child with his car while driving under the influence. David Garcia, 46 will enter a fast track plea agreement on felony charges of accidents involving death or injury and aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI along with several misdemeanor DUI and summary driving charges. Garcia is accused of striking a boy with his car on West Chestnut Street back in May. Police records state that he said the boy appeared in front of him and he could not stop the car. He allegedly checked on the boy before fleeing the scene out of fear. When stopped by police they say he smelled of alcohol and was taken to Washington Hospital for a blood draw. The boy was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital with a compound fracture. Garcia remains in the Washington County jail unable to post bail. He is scheduled for the fast track plea hearing on December 20.

FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. (AP) – Authorities say a training accident involving two military vehicles on a Pennsylvania military training area claimed the life of one soldier and injured three others over the weekend. Pennsylvania National Guard officials said the crash happened Saturday at Fort Indiantown Gap about 25 miles (40 kilometers) northeast of Harrisburg. Officials said Spc. Mackenzie L. Shay, 20 of New Castle, was killed and three other service members were treated and released. Officials did not release details about the accident but said it remains under investigation. ST. LOUIS (AP) – St. Louis police say three people are dead after at a shooting a high school Monday morning. Speaking at a news conference, Police Commissioner Michael Sack said the three dead included a woman, a teenage girl and the shooter, described as a man about 20 years old. The shooting just after 9 a.m. at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School forced students to barricade doors and huddle in classroom corners, jump from windows and run out of the building to seek safety. PONTIAC, Mich. (AP) – A teenager has pleaded guilty to terrorism and first-degree murder in a Michigan school shooting. Four students were killed and more were injured in the shooting nearly a year ago at Oxford High School. The investigation put an extraordinary focus on Ethan Crumbley’s home life and the alleged role of his parents in the tragedy. The 16-year-old Crumbley pleaded guilty Monday to 24 charges in the Oakland County court. On the day of the shooting, school staff discovered violent drawings and desperate messages created by Crumbley. But his parents declined to take him home and he was allowed to stay in school. James and Jennifer Crumbley are charged with involuntary manslaughter. They’re accused of making a gun accessible at home and ignoring Ethan Crumbley’s mental health needs. (Photo: AP)

(WPXI) – A UPMC representative addressed a false alert that was sent out Monday morning, notifying employees of an active shooter. Police responded to Presbyterian hospital around 8:15 a.m. after a Bronze Alert went out, warning employees of an active shooter situation. University of Pittsburgh police put out a social media post, advising people to avoid the area because of a possible man with a gun. There were also reports of some sort of incident at UPMC Bedford. A UPMC representative said the alert was sent in error. She said all hospitals are operating normally and there were no guns at any UPMC facilities.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Leslie Jordan, the Emmy-winning actor whose Southern drawl and versatility made him a comedy and drama standout on TV series like “Will & Grace” and “American Horror Story,” has died. He was 67. While the official cause of death has not been released, the Los Angeles Police Department reported that a driver, likely suffering a medical emergency, drove a car into a wall at the intersection of Cahuenga Boulevard and Romaine Street around 9:45 a.m. Monday. The Los Angeles Times confirmed the driver’s identity as Jordan. The Tennessee native, who won an on outstanding guest actor Emmy in 2005 for “Will & Grace,” – and earned an unexpected new following last year – when he spent time during the pandemic lockdown near family in his hometown. SEOUL, South Korea (AP) – North and South Korea have exchanged warning shots along the disputed western sea boundary where they’ve engaged in past bloodshed and naval battles. No fighting was reported but Monday’s developments raise worry of possible clashes after North Korea’s recent barrage of weapons tests. South Korea said its navy broadcast warnings and fired warning shots to repel a North Korean merchant ship that violated the sea boundary early Monday. North Korea’s military said its coastal defense units fired artillery warning shots toward its territorial waters where a South Korean naval ship had intruded. North Korea has launched missiles and artillery barrages recently as South Korea holds annual military exercises joined by the U.S.

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Russia’s defense chief has alleged that Ukraine was preparing a “provocation” involving a radioactive device, a stark claim that was strongly rejected by U.S., Ukrainian and British officials amid soaring tensions as Moscow struggles to stem Ukrainian advances. Russia’s Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu made the allegations in phone calls Sunday with his counterparts from the United States, Britain, France and Turkey. The Russian Defense Ministry said Shoigu voiced concern about possible Ukrainian provocations involving a “dirty bomb,” a device that uses explosives to scatter radioactive waste. Russia repeatedly has made allegations that Ukraine could detonate a dirty bomb and blame it on Moscow. Ukrainian authorities, in turn, have accused the Kremlin of hatching such a plan.
