DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Witnesses and health officials say dozens of Palestinians have been killed or wounded as desperate crowds headed toward food distribution points or airdrops in Gaza. Israel’s blockade and military offensive have made it nearly impossible to safely deliver aid. That’s contributing to the territory’s slide toward famine nearly 22 months into the war with Hamas. Aid groups say Israel’s week-old measures to allow more aid in are far from sufficient. Families of hostages in Gaza fear starvation affects them too, but blame Hamas. The U.N. says several hundred Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since May while seeking food aid.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Public health officials in Florida are reporting 21 cases of campylobacter and E. coli infections linked to drinking raw milk, all from the same farm. As of Monday, six children under the age of 10 were among those infected, according to the Florida Department of Health. Seven people have been hospitalized, with at least two cases leading to severe complications. Raw milk seems to be gaining in popularity, despite years of warnings about the health risks of unpasteurized products. The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say raw milk is one of the riskiest foods people can consume.

Lymphedema is a chronic condition and without proper treatment, the condition can cause discomfort. Now, people who suffer from that and wounds caused by surgery and other actions can find the relief that they have been seeking, all under one roof. The Lymphedema and Wound Care Center of Southwestern PA is now open at Plaza II in Southpointe. Amber Young is the owner of the center. She explains that lymphedema is when the lymph nodes in your body, that act as filters for toxins, swell, and are unable to discharge those toxins properly and swelling occurs. That swelling can occur anywhere from your neck to your legs. She said that she opened the facility because, many times people may have had lymphedema and a wound that may have triggered the condition and they could not find relief. They would get passed from one clinic to the next until one of the conditions cleared up. Their clinic will address wound care and lymphedema simultaneously. Treatment often includes wraps, compression, exercise, and massage. Their goal is to educate patients to best manage the condition. Their offices are located in Southpointe at Plaza II, 380 Southpointe Blvd. Suite 115. Off site lymphedema and wound care services are also available.

Texas Democrats have left the state in an attempt to prevent the state House from holding a vote Monday on new congressional maps that Republicans hope will net them several additional U.S. House seats in the 2026 midterm elections. The dramatic move Sunday could expose Democrats to fines and other penalties. Democrats have cast the decision to leave the state as a last-ditch effort to stop Republicans from pushing through a rare mid-decade redrawing of the congressional map. Republican Gov. Greg Abbott called a special session of the Legislature that started last month to take up the redistricting effort that President Donald Trump has urged.

NEW YORK (AP) — The Justice Department is ramping up an effort to get election data from the states. According to an Associated Press tally, the department’s voting section has requested copies of voter registration lists from state election administrators in at least 15 states. And department lawyers have contacted officials in at least seven states to propose a meeting about forging an information-sharing agreement related to instances of voting or election fraud. The unusually expansive outreach has raised alarm among some election officials. That’s because states have the constitutional authority to run elections and because federal law protects the sharing of individual data with the government.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Loni Anderson, who played a struggling radio station’s empowered receptionist Jennifer on the hit TV comedy “WKRP in Cincinnati,” has died. It was just days before her 80th birthday. Her longtime publicist says Anderson died at a Los Angeles hospital following a prolonged illness. “WKRP in Cincinnati” aired from 1978 through 1982 and was set in a lagging Ohio radio station trying to reinvent itself with rock music. As the station’s receptionist, Jennifer’s efficiency often kept the station running in the face of others’ incompetence.
