Elon Musk stepped back from his explosive feud with U.S. President Donald Trump, writing on X that he regrets some of his posts about his onetime ally and that they went “too far.” Early Wednesday morning, he posted “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.” Musk earlier deleted a post in which he claimed without evidence that the government was concealing information about the president’s association with infamous pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. On Sunday, Trump told NBC’s Kristen Welker that he has no desire to repair their relationship and warned that Musk could face “serious consequences” if he tries to help Democrats in upcoming elections.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police have swiftly enforced a downtown curfew, making arrests moments after it took effect, deploying officers on horseback and using crowd control projectiles to break up a group of hundreds demonstrating against President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown. Hours after the curfew went into effect Tuesday night, many of the protesters had dispersed, although small sporadic confrontations continued. Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom earlier accused Trump of drawing a “military dragnet” across the nation’s second-largest city with his escalating use of the National Guard. He also deployed Marines, though none were seen on the streets Tuesday. Trump ordered the deployment of nearly 5,000 troops, including National Guard and Marines, to LA.

FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. — (WPXI) – The body of an unidentified woman who died nearly four decades ago has been exhumed in Fayette County to hopefully give closure to the case. Members of Pennsylvania State Police Uniontown and the Fayette County Coroner’s Office exhumed the body Monday morning, according to the Fayette County District Attorney’s Office. The woman died in a traffic crash in Springhill Township in 1986. After being exhumed, the body was taken to the Indiana County Coroner’s Office, officials say. The woman’s DNA will be collected and uploaded to various databases in an effort to determine her identity. “Thank you to Trooper Sigwalt, Coroner Baker and all of the folks involved for their efforts to hopefully bring long-awaited closure to a grieving family,” the district attorney’s office said. According to Pennsylvania State Police, this is the first exhumation in the area in around 10 years. Jane Doe previously had a hair sample collected in 1986, but it was insufficient for analysis.

A teen who cooperated with prosecutors in landing convictions against two co-defendants in the shooting death of a Washington woman has had all charges against him dropped. According to the Observer-Reporter, charges were dropped against 18 year old Tyriq Moss Tuesday afternoon. He was initially charged with homicide, attempted homicide and other charges in the 2022 drive-by shooting that killed 58 year old Kristen Barfield outside her Ridge Avenue home. PITTSBURGH — Summer heat makes a return to the area on Thursday as temperatures climb into the upper 80s. Hazy sunshine will mix with a few clouds and while most areas stay dry, a few isolated showers could pop up north of Pittsburgh. A Code Orange Air Quality alert is in effect, with smoke from Canadian wildfires making it unhealthy for sensitive groups. Clouds will thicken up Friday and hit or miss showers will develop during the afternoon and evening. Another round of showers and a few storms are possible Saturday and Sunday. Neither day appears to be a washout, but wet weather will disrupt your outdoor plans and could impact play during the U.S. Open.

North Franklin Township Supervisors held a public hearing on a proposed zoning change regarding the Washington Crown Center Mall. The change would allow a zoning overlay of light industrial to the current commercial zoning for the mall. That would open the mall to more than two dozen other permitted and conditional uses. The reason for the change was brought about by Provider Real Estate Partners who are interested in purchasing the mall and redeveloping it into a mixed-use facility. According to Chris Salata, partner with PREP the zoning would allow such uses as office space, research and development and light industrial work. The developers wanted all light industrial uses to be permitted. Supervisors disagreed on some of those permitted uses. Supervisors held up a vote on approval of the zoning change until the ordinance is redrafted to keep trucking facilities and terminals as conditional use and any personal storage space development at the mall limited to no more than 150,000 square feet. According to Salata, the project size is in the neighborhood of 500,000 square feet and development costs will be in the range of $35 million. Salata says that once approval is obtained, closing could occur in 90-120 days. A special meeting to adopt the ordinance with its changes is scheduled for June 25 at 5:00 pm.

(AP) – Brian Wilson, the Beach Boys’ visionary and fragile leader whose genius for melody, arrangements and wide-eyed self-expression inspired “Good Vibrations,” “California Girls” and other summertime anthems and made him one of the world’s most influential recording artists, has died at 82. Wilson’s family posted news of his death to his website and social media accounts Wednesday. Further details weren’t immediately available. Since May 2024, Wilson had been under a court conservatorship to oversee his personal and medical affairs, with Wilson’s longtime representatives, publicist Jean Sievers and manager LeeAnn Hard, in charge. The eldest and last surviving of three musical brothers — Brian played bass, Carl lead guitar and Dennis drums — he and his fellow Beach Boys rose in the 1960s from local California band to national hit-makers to international ambassadors of surf and sun. Wilson himself was celebrated for his gifts and pitied for his demons. He was one of rock’s great Romantics, a tormented man who in his peak years embarked on an ever-steeper path to aural perfection, the one true sound. (Photo: AP)

LOS ANGELES (AP) — California Gov. Gavin Newsom has asked a federal court to block the Trump administration from using the National Guard and Marines to assist with immigration raids in Los Angeles, saying the practice would only heighten tensions. Newsom filed the emergency request Tuesday after President Donald Trump ordered the deployment to LA of roughly 4,000 National Guard members and 700 Marines following protests driven by anger over the president’s stepped-up enforcement of immigration laws. The governor’s request said it was in response to a change in orders for the Guard members, who were originally deployed to protect federal buildings.
