PennDot is cautioning motorists regarding single lane restrictions planned for Interstate 70 on the Smelsser Bridge. The location of the restrictions is between Exit 49 (Smithton) and Exits 46A/46B (Route 51) In Rostraver. The timing of the single lane restrictions is Monday through Saturday 9:00 am through 3:00 pm in both eastbound and westbound directions. Additionally, PennDot will be performing road maintenance work on several roadways throughout Washington County. Some of the larger projects will be road patching on Rt. 19 in North Strabane, South Strabane and Peters Townships. Patching will also occur on Interstate 70 in Fallowfield and Somerset Townships and Speers and Twighlight Boroughs. Routes 88 and 837 will see patching in Union Township, Finleyville and Elrama. Routes 519 and 980 will also see patching work performed. A full list of road construction projects may be found here.
