Longtime, local State Representative Pete Daley has died at the age of 71. Reports are that he died Wednesday, but there is no word on a cause of death. Daley was a native of Brownsville and graduated from California High School and California University of Pa. The Democrat was elected to the State House of Representatives in 1982 and served 17 terms for the 49th legislative district. He retired from office in 2016. Most recently he was practicing law out of his office in Brownsville.  Washington County Commissioner Larry Maggi tells WJPA News he was saddened to learn of Daley’s passing.  Maggi says he met Daley while attending classes at “Cal State”. He says Daley could ‘light up a room’ when he walked in and will be missed by many.  At this time, there is no word on funeral arrangements.  In honor of former Pennsylvania State Representative Peter J. Daley II, Governor Tom Wolf ordered the commonwealth flag on all commonwealth facilities, public buildings and grounds to fly at half-staff immediately.  The commonwealth flag will be flown at half-staff until sunset on the day of Rep. Daley’s interment, which has not yet been determined.(Photo:  Facebook)
