Peters Township Man Faces Trial For Stabbing

A Peters Township man faced his preliminary hearing Friday for a stabbing that occured in January in Cecil Township. According to the criminal complaint, Christopher Cavanagh, 40 is accused of stabbing a man in the back seat of an Uber after the two got into an argument. When police arrived to the 40 block of Georgetown Road, they found the victim, Ryan Henning with stab wounds on his chest. He was transported to UPMC Mercy Hospital for treatment. Cavanagh had his charges held for court without a hearing. He is facing attempted homicide and aggravated assault felonies along with a simple assault charge.  He is free on bond, his arraignment is pending.
