PITTSBURGH — (WPXI) – Officials with the University of Pittsburgh report that at midnight the campus will move to the Elevated Risk Posture after at least 40 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been identified since Friday. School officials said they believe the cases are linked to gatherings that took place over the Halloween weekend. The school will also enacted a shelter-in-place order at midnight that was originally scheduled for Nov. 12. During this time period, students should only leave their rooms or apartments to attend classes, labs or clinics in person; to pick up food; to exercise safely; to study in the library; to work when necessary; and shop for essentials.
