(WPXI) – A driver became trapped after school bus crashed into a steel pole in Forest Hills Wednesday morning. Emergency crews responded to the scene in the 2300 block of Ardmore Boulevard around 9:30 a.m. “Some people were sitting at the intersection down there they said it sounded like an atomic bomb going off when it hit the structure,” said Forest Hills Station 153 Assistant Fire Chief Jim Theilacker. It took crews around 30 minutes to get the driver out of the bus. The driver was then taken to a hospital in stable condition. There were no kids on the bus at the time of the crash. Allegheny County Collision Reconstruction Officers initiated an investigation.
