Settlements Reached In CA Democratic Party Lawsuits

LOS ANGELES (AP) – The California Democratic Party has reached settlements in three lawsuits that alleged its former chair engaged in a pattern of misconduct, discrimination and unwanted sexual advances. The announcement Friday closes a chapter in an embarrassing scandal for state Democrats, as the party heads into an election year. A statement released by the party did not acknowledge any specific wrongdoing by former party leader Eric Bauman. In a statement issued by his lawyer, Bauman said he was pleased with the settlementsá A person with knowledge of the agreement said one case involving three of the plaintiffs was settled for over $1 million.
