Severe Storms Pound The Region

Severe storms pounded the area resulting in power outages and some flooding.  Washington County 911 says Main Street in Burgettstown was one of the areas where flooding had occurred but has since receded.   As for power outages, there are plenty.  As of 8 a.m,  West Penn Power was reporting more than 69-hundred in Washington County.  That includes more than 21-hundred in Cecil Township, nearly 12-hundred in Mt. Pleasant Township, more than 800-in Hanover Township and  more than 600 in both Smith and Carroll Township.  Crews are working to restore service.  Because of power outages and flooding, the Avella, Canon McMillan and Chartiers Houston School Districts closed for the day.  Trinity is operating on a two-hour delay.   Tune to WJPA 95.3FM/1450AM for the very latest
