DERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — (WPXI) – A crime scene reconstruction team at a home in Derry Township is investigating what led to a woman being shot and killed. Troopers said the woman, 52-year-old Tracy Squib, was found shot and killed in her bedroom. According to the Westmoreland County coroner, She had been shot in the chest while she was asleep in her bed. “We’re treating it as a homicide investigation,” Pennsylvania State Trooper Stephen Limani. The Westmoreland County corner said multiple gunshots were fire outside of the home on Pandora Road around 4 a.m. The gunshot came from outside the house, penetrated into the house and struck this woman,” said Limani said. They are still trying to determine if that shot was fired intentionally or if it was a stray bullet. Squib was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. Three other family members were inside the home at the time Squib was shot. Police are now pleading with neighbors and businesses to look at their surveillance video to see if anything seems out of place. (Photo: WPXI)
