Son Of Charleroi Magistrate Killed In Delaware Crash

The son of Charleroi District Magistrate Eric Porter has been killed in a vehicle crash in Delaware. According to police, the crash occurred Friday night along Seashore Highway. An SUV crossed the centerline and sideswiped 20 Year old Glenn Porter’s parents pickup truck that was driving ahead and then struck his vehicle head-on. Porter was pronounced dead at an area hospital. His 19 year old girlfriend Kylie Quigley of Stockdale suffered serious injuries and is hospitalized. The driver of the SUV is a 49 year old Maryland woman. She suffered non life-threatening injuries. Eric Porter and his wife were not injured. Eric Porter was elected Magistrate in 2019 and previously served as Charleroi Regional Police Chief prior to that. Glenn Porter had recently graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s police academy and was to begin work for California Borough police next month.
