Locust Avenue is still on track to be reopened in the middle of October. That is according to PennDot. The road that has been closed since it was washed out by a severe storm in March saw a great deal of damage. Restoration of the road began in July. Slope stabilization and local drainage upgrades are being implemented. According to PennDot, the project will cost between $1 million and $2 million dollars. PennDot is using state emergency funding for the project. The detour using Country Club Road will remain in effect until the project is completed.
