Strong Storms Leave Thousands In The Dark

Thousands of customers were left in the dark following strong storms that moved through the area on Saturday.  West Penn Power reported more than 12,000 customers without power, most of those in Westmoreland County, and another 2,000 each are in Fayette and Greene counties.  Washington County reported about thirteen-hundred customers without electricity, and those were widely scattered.  Duquesne Light Co. reported more than 3,000 customers without power. Over 2,000 of those are in Allegheny County, and the rest are in Beaver County.
