A domestic violence call to Peters Township Police escalated into a SWAT team event on Tuesday morning. Police were called to the Residences on McMurray, an apartment complex situated just off West McMurray Road. Peters Township Police Chief Douglas Grimes indicated that the victim escaped the apartment with minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.  Police say she told them that the suspect, Brandon Osborne, may have had firearms in the apartment. Police called for assistance from the South Hills Area Council Of Governments’ Community Emergency Response Team. The Washington County SWAT team, Allegheny Bomb Squad along with police from North Strabane, South Strabane and Baldwin also assisted. Police spent several hours trying to coax Osborne from the apartment before they were issued a search warrant. Upon entering the apartment police found Osborne had fled the scene sometime between the initial call from the victim and the initial arrival of police. A rifle and hand gun were found in the apartment. Osborne is still at large. Police are in contact with him asking him to turn himself in. Police anticipate charges to be filed against Osborne once he is in custody.
