Two Taken To Hospital After Collision On Route 40

WASHINGTON, Pa – Multiple victims were taken to the hospital early Monday morning after a two-vehicle accident on Route 40 near the Laboratory exit off Interstate 79. The reported head-on crash happened around 3:00 a.m.  According to witnesses on scene, three people were injured when passing vehicles arrived to offer help. Reports say one man was life-flighted to a nearby hospital, while the other male was taken by ambulance. South Strabane Fire crews reportedly used the jaws of life to help one victim escape. A woman was also treated for injuries according to witnesses on scene. The cause of the accident is unknown at this time, as are names of the victims. Multiple agencies including the Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash.
