HONG KONG (AP) — Typhoon Wipha has toppled trees and caused major flight disruptions in Hong Kong and at some nearby airports in China as it moved west off the country’s southern coast. Airports in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Macao canceled or delayed all daytime flights. Some high-speed train services were also suspended. The Hong Kong Observatory issued its highest hurricane warning as the storm passed south of the city with winds of 108 kph or 87 mph. More than 250 people sought shelter. The storm made landfall in China’s Guangdong province on Sunday evening. Wipha earlier drenched Taiwan and passed over the Philippines.
