PITTSBURGH (WPXI)— UPMC has released a new way to register for the COVID-19 vaccine, for those who are eligible on Wednesday. By visiting https://vaccine.upmc.com/, those people who meet the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Phase 1a criteria – which includes people over 65 and people with medical conditions that put them at greater risk of COVID-19 complications, are able to sign up to receive information regarding vaccine scheduling, as supplies become available. To date, UPMC has administered nearly 158,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, including more than 12,500 to community members, and we are eager to do more as supplies become available, according to officials with the hospital system. Vaccine supply from the state and federal government is still limited, but by registering now will allow the hospital system to be able to contact about appointment scheduling.
