Washington School Student Hit By Vehicle

Details are sketchy but WJPA News has confirmed with Washington School District Superintendent George Lammay that a Washington Junior/Senior High School student was struck by a vehicle while he was crossing Jefferson Avenue near the Subway Wednesday afternoon.  Washington County 911 tells us the injuries were minor and he was transported from the scene by ambulance to an area hospital.  Lammay says students were being dismissed from classes around three o’clock when the victim crossed the street and was struck by a vehicle.  Washington Police are investigating the incident.  This is a developing story.  Please check back for further details.
