Sentencing was held for a Washington man who held up a gas station on Racetrack Road in October of 2021. Evan Hryniewich was sentenced to 22-44 months in a state correctional facility for pleading guilty to felony robbery with a threat for serious injury. Hryniewich entered the Marathon gas station with an Airsoft gun and demanded the cashier give him money. The cashier gave him roughly $100 and Hryniewich fled the scene with his accomplice Jacob Shuman who was driving. Police located the pair at Shuman’s residence where they found the gun used in the robbery. Shuman had been sentenced to two years probation on a conspiracy charge. Hryniewich will remain in the Washington County jail until a pending escape charge is adjudicated.
